The mission of Stratton Hall 1794 is to preserve and educate. As part of that mission, we raise rare and endangered heritage breeds of livestock – we’re cultivating history! Heritage breeds on the farm include the Dorset Horn, Jacob, and Leicester Longwool sheep, Dominique chickens, and Indian Runner ducks. Visitors to the farm can meet the sheep, chickens and ducks during a variety of themed farm tours, workshops, classes, and special events. They will learn about each breed’s history, its importance and uses, why preserving heritage breeds is important, and the ways in which they can help preserve each breed.
